Custom ASCII Greek Collation For Greek Alphabet
Database Backup&Validation problems
When errors occur in the B&V of the database, sometimes the problem is that the Custom ASCII Greek Collation For Greek Alphabet is missing from a specified folder. All that has to be done is for the 4 files to be inserted into e.g. ‘C:Program FilesSybaseAdaptive Server Anywhere 6.0Scripts’. For acquiring these files please contact support at Synthesis Software.

General Instructions
A client that is connected to a local or network printer, should have the original printer drivers installed (not compatible drivers).
All reports print on A4 Landscape, except forms and statements like: “Receipts”, “Remittance”, “Cheques”, “Customers/Suppliers Statements” etc, which print on A4 Portrait. Thus, paper size should be set at A4 210 x 297 mm.
SY3/Printer/Margins setup
Normal printer settings (inside the software à System Printers) should include the settings of preference with the correct unique name of each printer. For some users, the printer name is left blank, and also the margins are set to minus one (-1). What this means is that the system can alter the settings that are already been used by the default printer, when a universal solution is found -- e.g. changing the characters of a report (to Symbol).

General Instructions
On Terminal Servers where the users access the server remotely, make sure that the regional settings are exactly the same as on the server.
Printer setup
On printer settings disable bidirectional support to print through Terminal Services.

Server Scheduling Features
Validation & Backup
Enter ‘Control Panel’ à ‘Scheduled Tasks’ à ‘Add Scheduled Task’. Browse and enter your personalized Backup batch file (xxxxbackup.bat). Make sure it runs when the system is most likely not to be used, like late at night.
Stop-Start Engine
The ‘NET_STOP_NET_START.BAT’ could be performed once at the start of the week, so that the engine resets itself. This is done in exactly the same way, browse until the file is found and add the time and frequency accordingly.
